BORN IN THE SKATAYRANGE ,

as Fjola Ymir, she would learn a variety of survival skills. She is profecient with a bow, and even in heels you would never hear her coming. She spent most of her time as a healer of her village, using home remedies and magic. Once she reached the coming of age for Viera, she started having unusual dreams she could make no sense of. They felt familiar and yet so unkown all at once. As she got older, the dreams got more vivid; she began feeling the emotions of the persons memories that were invading her head, eventually developing the WoL iconic migraines, and thus leading to her expedition outside of the woods she grew up in.

But that wouldn't happen until 57 years later. During her time in the wood, she mostly heard of stories from her sister, Petra Ymir, who left the village long before she was born and became a traveling bard. Her city name is Jay, and she would return randomly throughout the years, teaching Fjola and her sisters new things. During her visits, they would sometimes make their way to the Capital City of Dalmasca, Rabanastre. Being known as the hub of land trade, Fjola found herself engulfed with the many different spices and foods from places of the world she had only ever heard of. The flavors she explored had her longing to return after each visit.

Her sister is the one that taught Mylene how to hold a bow, and though having not been within the village for a long time, Jay made it a point to check back on her family every so often and find her stay for a few months. Her village was of the few that welcomed back Viera with city names, as most would visit the city that sat below the Skatay Range.

In 1547, Fjola watched as Garlameld's Airships flew over her home. Her village rallied up, and fought vigiantly against them during the Battle of Nalbina Fortress, but it proved useless. Six long months later, with the fall of Prince Rasler and the assassination of King Raminas, they fell back and the fortress was turned into a prison. She would later fight on the Bozjan front to reclaim the fortress many years later.

People who managed to escape Rabanastre spread out all over, some even taking refuge within the Ymir village. Fjola coud not help but feel she had failed. She had previously come to the conclusion that her dreams were more than a mere coincidence, and she experienced her first real "echo" during the battle against the Garleans. A throbbing headache, causing her to lose her vision and grab her forehead in agony, she witnessed previous plans being discussed right before her, and she felt useless. It's as if her gift had reached it's final form as she realized she could finally understand what they had been saying, but it was all too late. Years passed, and Fjola found herself among those within the Dalmascan Resistance. The Barheim Incident resulted in many deaths of imperial colonists, but any hope that the resistance would continue with successful uprisings was soon turned to ash, as the "Witch of Dalmasca" killed anyone suspected to be apart of the group.

In 1562, a vision she had would change her life forever. She had stayed in her village for the past few years. Depressed and the feeling of being defeated weighed heavy on her. Another clutching headache and she would see vision of falling stars. Staying within her village made her feel nauseous and anxiety would have her up at night. Once her sister returned, Fjola begged to take her with her this time, explaining that the last vision she had was not like the others, and that she was going to find out what it meant. It took sometime, but eventually both were off to Eorzea, a place not even her sister had reached before.

They dock in Thavnair, a place Fjola remembers only in smells and tastes, as she is sure she has had some of the local cuisine back in Dalmasca. As far as Fjola knew, this was the only place the Garlean Empire had not destroyed. They planned to stay for only a few months, gathering supplies and things they would need for a long journey to Eorzea, but that would end up falling through and the two would find themselves living in Radz-at-Han for five years. Little did they know, The Battle of Carteneau was already under way. During her stay in Thavnair, she met Zoran. A hrothgar alchemist. He impressed her, and the two quickly became friends. He opened Fjola's world up to a whole new variety of things, from teaching her how to be a Dancer to messing around with alchemy. Zoran was also interested in learning about Eorzea, and was reluctant at first about joining the two Viera's, but his curiosity would get the better of him. Before they would leave for Eorzea, they would learn of the Battle of Carteneau, and Fjola's vision of falling stars would all make sense.

After a month's long journey, Fjola would finally end up where she has been longing to go for years. Heading to the Adevnturuers Guild in Gridania, she set out to start her new life and eventually find her purpose, in a realm reborn.

Fun fact!
fjola would actually become "mylene" during the events of heavensward, where she falls in love with the weather, architecture, and of course, Aymeric De' Borel.

Meeting during one of the most vulnerable times in her life, Zoran quickly became mylene's best friend. From teaching her how to be a dancer, showing off his amazing skill in alchemy, and eventually helping her during her studies in conjuring, the two would form an unbreakable bond. he has been by her side through every step in eorzea.
